“Hey April” Daniel smiled as he took the seat next to me.
“Hi” I tried sounding rude so that the conversation wouldn’t go any further.
“So, why do you always seem sad?” he asked.
“Well, wouldn’t you be sad if your friend was in a coma for 7 years?” I snapped. It may have sounded a bit rude when it came out but it didn't really matter.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Who’s your friend?”
“His name is Danny” I had just realized that.
“Tell me more about him. If you want”
“I’ll tell you later. We’re at school and I don’t want to discuss it in school”. I grabbed my black bag and walked out of the bus.
“Wait you forgot your-“Daniel yelled after me but I just kept walking.
“Hey, are you the new emo chick that just started here” I heard a girl say behind me.
“Um, yeah, I guess so, but I’m not emo”. Before I knew it, I was on the ground with a grazed knee.
“No emos allowed” she laughed and walked off with the other girls that were with her. I reached into my bag and looked for my wallet so that I can cross out ‘New Bullies’ but it wasn’t there. Oh no, I think I left it on the bus. It’s probably in the principal’s office.
“April, come over here!” I heard Daniel’s voice when I walked into homeroom.
“It’s okay, I’ll sit over there” I said, trying to avoid him but it was too late. His hand was already on my arm, dragging me next to the seat beside him. “Or I’ll just sit here”.
“You forgot your wallet in the bus” he said, handing my wallet back to me.
“Thanks. Did you open it?” I asked curiously.
“Yeah, sorry, I saw a picture of this boy, probably Danny?” Why do I still have that? Maybe it was because I didn't want to dispose of all the memories.
“Oh, yeah, we were 5 when I took it” the memories came rushing back. His mom took us to the amusement park; it was my first time going. It was so much fun. We both went into the Picture Booth and went crazy with facial expressions. It helped me forget about the sorrows of my dad’s death.
“April” I felt someone shake me
“Oh sorry, I just remembered something”
“I have to tell you something important” he suddenly looked serious.
I wonder what he wanted to tell me, but the bell rang before he had time to tell me. My first class was maths, so I walked to the class. When I reached there, I saw those mean girls that pushed me when I came out of the bus.
“Well, hello there” the dark haired one smirked. I tried to ignore them and walk straight to class but her hands were on my chest and she pushed me down the stairs. I nearly hit down ground when I felt someone catch me.
“Are you okay?” he asked
“Yeah, thanks”. I looked at him more clearly. He had black spiky hair, wore skinny jeans (which weren’t part of the uniform), he had deep blue eyes and wore converse.
